Iran looks to expand its existing influence in Central and South America. Financial Times Midwest Bureau Chief Hal Weitzman shares his perspective about the United States' possible role in countering this growing threat.

Weitzman spent several years covering the South American Andes area for the Financial Times. His new book Latin Lessons: How South America Stopped Listening to the United States and Started Prospering was published last month.
